EUROPEAN FEDERATION OF BIOTECHNOLOGYThe mission of the EFB is to promote the safe, sustainable and beneficial use of nature's resources in life sciences and technologies by supporting sound science as well as the application of advanced engineering and information technology. EFB also strives to improve public perception and education, facilitate the exchange of people and ideas, and stimulate innovation with the common goal of advancing biotechnology in Europe. The EFB offers all national learned societies, companies and individuals interested in the promotion of biotechnology an active platform for participating in and contributing to enhanced and coordinated activities in Europe. |
APPLIED GENOME RESEARCH SECTIONThe Section on Applied Genome Research (AGR) of the EFB gathers 350 European members specialized in the different techniques applied in genome research. The AGR section was founded at the first European symposium on AGR in Brussels in November 1998.The second European symposium on AGR was held in Berlin in September 2000 during the symposium 'Biotechnology 2000'. |
