Bo Heiden is the deputy director of the Center for Intellectual Property studies (CIP). In this role his responsibilities include strategic program development specifically focused on the building of CIP Professional Services, which provides high level support in the form of tools, expert networks, and direct services to the 10-15 high-tech start-up firms created through the CIP platform every year. In addition Mr. Heiden is responsible for the ICM-C (Intellectual Capital Management at Chalmers) Master program for engineering students as well as strategic marketing and networking activities including major IP management events worldwide.

Currently Mr. Heiden holds several positions related to the above activities including Chairman of the ScanBalt IP Knowledge Network, Chairman of the Task Group on Innovation for the European Federation of Biotechnology, and Coordinator of the ScanBalt Campus Knowledge Center on IP and Bio-Entrepreneurship.

Mr. Heiden holds degrees in engineering and technology management and his PhD work is in the field of IP management and entrepreneurship with a focus on Intellectual Property valuation and finance. On this subject, Bo is a frequent lecturer at both Chalmers and Göteborg University as well as at industry and WIPO conferences. At present Bo is working on both a book and a WIPO publication focused on IP evaluation, valuation and value creation.

Mr. Heiden currently resides in Göteborg Sweden with his wife and two small children. Before turning his focus to the field of IP, Bo played professional basketball in a number of European countries.
