A subcellular map of the human proteome

Human proteome

The Human Protein Atlas Project, whose director is Mathias Uhlen, president of the European Federation of Biotechnology, and Professor of the KTH Royal Institute of Technology, has published an image-based map of the subcellular protein distribution: "The Cell Atlas".
The work was led by Emma Lundberg and presents data on more than 12.000 proteins and mapping to 30 organelles. The scientific findings are published in Science in : A subcellular map of the human proteome .
In the words of Mathias Uhlen, "The Cell Atlas provides researchers with new knowledge that facilitates functional exploration of individual proteins and their role in human biology and disease (…) Only by studying the molecular components of the body's smallest functional unit - the cell - can we reach a full understanding of human biology".

Royal Society of Biology: Scientific Laboratory Leadership and Management

Management skills are vital for a successful career in a scientific lab environment. As well as their research expertise, successful team leaders need to develop additional skills including the ability to support staff, manage their own team, and deal with issues within the team. This course will help attendees to develop these skills.
